Ultrasound

Flintrock Feeders Ltd. is actively involved in the use of ultrasound carcass imaging to predict yield grade and quality percentages on cattle intended for formula or grid marketing programs.  Ultrasound is just another great tool in determining whether an individual animal should be marketed in a certain way.  This helps the customer get the biggest bang for his buck.  Why send animals to the wrong market when another fits?

Constant communication between the feed-yard and the customer helps make much more informed decisions based on the greatest amount of data available. 

This same technology can also be used to sort cattle according to their most economical days on feed, minimizing the effect of feeding cattle longer or shorter than they need to be fed.

Along with the useful tools that ultrasound carcass imaging provides it also provides some insight into the background genetics of the cattle, and can easily be tailored to provide useful information as to which cattle are producing good and bad calves at the ranch for better management of the cow herd at home.

Arrangements can also be made with customers to perform an "at the ranch" evaluation of herd bulls and replacement heifers that will be useful in buying or culling decisions.
